Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel is a common port if you sail out of Galveston or any of the southern ports.  A few trips ago we did an excursion by accident to Chankanaab and it was the best mistake ever!  If you're looking for an adventure that has a little bit of everything, this is a great option.  From swimming with the dolphins, to relaxing on a hammock under a palm tree, to snorkeling off the rocks, to tasting tequila at a private tasting, it's a really good way to spend the day in Cozumel.  If you choose not to do this as part of an excursion, you can walk or take a taxi, and then pay the admission to get in and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Cozumel also has great scuba diving around the Mesoamerican Reef, Mayan archaeological sites and deep sea fishing for blue and white marlin, sailfish and swordfish.

Keep in mind there are two different ports that the ships come into, so if you've visited before you may be surprised to arrive at a different place!  Getting around town is easy and cheap -- just grab a taxi.

When you're in port ...
